AARP,

  • AARP Purpose Prize

CEO & Founder, Ms. Imja Choi, established Penn Asian Senior Services (PASSi) in 2004 in response to the daunting process of finding linguistically capable and culturally attuned direct care providers capable of caring for her mother at home. Over the last 15 years, PASSi has become a leading nonprofit organization in Pennsylvania dedicated to serve vulnerable, limited English proficient older adults by providing a diverse array of important services. Ms. Choi was recently recognized as one of the AARP Purpose Prize winners on November 13, 2019 in Washington D.C. at National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum. This recognition exclusively illustrated her hard work and genuine devotion to promoting the wellbeing of Asian American seniors and other adults who are disadvantaged by their language and cultural barriers.
